Artist Note

Art creates the world. The screen is my Genesis. A white screen with nothing drawn is the beginning of the world. A painter with a brush in front of that world is like a builder. Painting trees and birds there creates nature, painting humans creates human history, and painting the sun, the moon, and stars creates the universe.

Being a builder increases your anguish. Should I draw one or two birds? Draw mountains overlapping or spreading them out? Draw the sun or the moon? Should I draw a tree or several to make a forest?

​The condensation of anguish is released with paint and the work is completed. There is a poem in the painting, and a painting in the poem. Painting is a silent poem, and poetry is a talking painting. It is a silent poem spoken by images, a world of my paintings that I always aim for. If the record of the world created by God is Genesis in the Bible, the picture is the record of the world I created, that is, my Genesis.

I have been working for a long time to create my own world and my own Genesis on a silver screen where no one goes. Although the path is difficult and difficult, I will one day reach a beautiful destination like a pioneer who has found a place to live in the Amazon forest through challenges and efforts.
