Artist Note

I draw a different extreme reality painting that shows the real and virtual real world by drawing objects (images) on the book with images reflected through mirrors on the floor.
I want to realize the truth of life through materials such as natural objects that are bound to lose freshness over time and books that silently ripen human hearts.
Materials such as colorful but changeable natural objects and books containing wisdom that always mature humans are repeatedly conveyed through my eyes and mirrors, and through brush strokes containing souls, I want to show the clear mind of human beings.
On a transparent mirror that purifies mental exhaustion and daily precarious situations and seeks clarity, it aims to express bright and beautiful inner maturity of human beings through objects with good meaning such as fertility and wealth.
My work proposition 'Myeonggyeong index' is to pursue a clear and clean mind. It also connects the image seen with the heart and reflected in the heart with the metaphor of the mirror.

The series of <Myeonggyeong Index> is a dramatic painting that does not stop at the problem of formative form, but ultimately reflects the state of mind. It is a painting that realizes the state of the mind by seeing it with the mind and perceiving the image reflected there. My work is a case of emphasizing the movement of the senses above all else, and it is a shape painting of perception that leads to intuition through the senses. Therefore, the clear polar fact screen of <Myeonggyeong index> is no different from a clear mirror and still water. In other words, the residue of subjective emotions is a clear mirror that is not as rich as dust.

While being influenced by previous dramatists, I sometimes make a subtle difference that is not noticeable in the clarity of the part and the outside where the poem is focused for the sense of the real scene. In addition, it expresses not only the material of the object in the center of the screen but also the background space around it.   When objects and background spaces are drawn together and perceived at the same time, the audience does not only look at objects on the screen, but perceives objects and background spaces at once, and has no choice but to be aware of the relationship between the two elements. Therefore, the gaze of looking at objects in the space is not a gaze of looking down at the object, but a gaze of looking at the 'I' and the space surrounding me as an organic world.

You can summarize what you focus on in your work in three ways. First, it is to present a stark reality without shaking emotions through the description of extreme facts, secondly, to detect and grasp reality as a whole without being sunk in the real object, and thirdly, to paint the state of the mind by turning oneself into the subject of the mind. Among them, the ultimate task that is important to you is not to recover from reality, but to express it in that clear and still face, which is felt after not moving and finally works.
With these differences, he/she is building his/her own pictorial identity, suggests the possibility for self-reflection, and hopes to find the possibility of introspection to the audience who looks at the work.
